Cat carriers NZ: delivered to New Zealand, priced in NZD
Flying with a cat carrier in New Zealand
Air New Zealand carries cats in the pressurised hold only — there is no cabin option, on any route, domestic or international. That is not a size problem you can solve with a smaller bag, and no carrier sold anywhere will change it.
cats accepted in the cabin by Air New Zealand — hold only, on every flight
— Air New Zealand pet travel policy, 2026
If you are flying within New Zealand with a cat, the conversation is with the airline about hold travel, not with a shop about a bag. Where a soft carrier does earn its place here is everything else: the vet, the move, the car, the walk.
Flying with Air Canada or Virgin Australia instead? Those two do take cats in the cabin, and they publish sizes. The table is here.
What you pay for a cat carrier in New Zealand dollars

GST is included in every price above. On consignments of this value it is collected at the point of sale, so there is nothing further to settle when the parcel arrives — no customs bill at the door.
Delivery is free and takes 6 to 10 working days. You have 30 days from delivery to send a carrier back for any reason, and your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 apply on top of that.
